Remembering Stones

sneak peek

In my make-shift kitchen island counter studio

today,

I am working on a piece

of

remembrance.

Of answered prayers

of healing

of miracles

of comfort

in God's word.

It is a great honor

to be trusted to create

a shadow-box

of remembering.

Remembering Stones.

". . . each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder . . .

that this may be a sign among you . . . "

". . . when your children ask in time to come saying,
'What do these stones mean to you?'

Then you shall answer them that

. . .  the waters of the Jordan were cut off . . .

And these stones shall be for a memorial

to the children . . . forever."

Joshua 4:5,6,7

What are your "waters of the Jordan" that were cut off?
What are your miracles to remember?
~Your miracles that only God can do~
Stones of remembrance cause our children
to ask
what is this?
what does this mean to you?
And give us the opportunity
to tell our stories
of God's hand
in our lives.
And cause us
to
remember.

  1. Hi Jodi..this posting was wonderful! Yes..What an honor to be chosen for such a worthy project. As I was reading through your selected Scripture, it truly helped me recall my own stones. How Heaven has oftentimes stepped in with a miracle when all else was failing down here. Following those troubling times (when the eye and not the spirit was questioning), special people in my life have asked "how?" was this or that "ever" resolved? I give them only one answer, "God". Love and sunshine to you sweet lady ~

  7. So powerful, Jodi...I see God's heart deepening in you - shaping and pressing and what is coming forth is so beautiful - able to impart His truth with both word and image. "What do these stones mean to you"...very powerful...
