To hope
is to wait
with
confident expectation.
In the midst of terrible distress,
sometimes what we need
is a golden story
of
hope
and to remember that
those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

The calendar features beautiful prairie
scenes from South Dakota Highway 34.
A
common highway traveled by so many in the region that cuts through the heart of
Atlas’s path.
Sadly, this highway gave a small glimpse
of the greater losses of cattle endured by so many
in places tucked away from roadsides.
However, this calendar beautifully declares the hope that thrives through the region
in the face of adversity
and will be an encouraging daily reminder for all who hang it in their home.
Those in South Dakota familiar with traveling
this long old road called "34" know that it is both
something to endure
as well as
something of beauty.

"The prairie looks so beautiful and gentle.
But I wonder what it will do next.
Seems like we have to fight it all the time.
This earthly life is a battle.
If it isn't one thing to contend with, it's another.
It always has been so,
and it always will be.
The sooner you make up your mind to that,
the better off you are,
and the more thankful for your pleasures."
