~ Back From Taxes ~

Here I am.

I took an unintentional blog break over the past week

as I finished my taxes.

All that

mixed with the

weird emotions,

{like facing fear, inadequacy, shame, never-enough}

I have

that area of my life

a photo break.

It is those

times that

I feel like

I am going out of

my ever-loving-mind

that drive me outside

with my camera.

To restore

my sanity.

~ He restores my soul ~ Psalm 23:3 ~

My heart is heavy for those in Japan.
My little time with taxes is nothing.
Draw Japan into your arms, Lord, draw them in.
Come, Lord Jesus. Come.

My husband and I watched the movie
The Book of Eli
last night.
Thought provoking and gut-wrenching.
Not for the faint of heart.
Disturbing, yes.
(Like, Mom...Linda V...don't watch it.)
Hard to describe the emotion, though,
when I saw those words flashing
on the printing press.
Do not want to spoil it for anyone.
But the fight for the end meant much.
Anyone else see it?
Drop me an email.
I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Linking up with these lovely ladies:

  1. I remember feeling much the same with that movie, too. I am TERRIBLE with remembering movies, much better with remembering the feeling associated with them.

I hope you are linking up tonight/tomorrow. We've missed you!

  2. Gorgeous photos, Jodi! LOVE the wheat in the snow.
Tax prep is really not fun, any old way you shape it.
Saw Book of Eli quite a while ago. Actually, it's a rather disturbing movie, as I remember.

Yes, heavy heart for the people of Japan. ...

  3. Love how you captured the frost ~

  4. beautiful photos...glad your taxes are done;)
thinking of Japan much..and I saw bits and pieces of it. I can't handle much of that because my heart can't take it but the ending is HUGE so..yes I know what you mean.
side note: I am beginner .. in photography. Do you have any good blogs that you know where they teach basics...that are easy to read?
In my mid life;) I am realizing that I love to take pictures. It soothes me. It connects something in me but I don't have a clue.
    OK..I'll stop talking:)

  5. Beautiful pictures! These are recent??? I'm in South Carolina where we had 70 degree weather yesterday, so snow blows my mind this time in the Spring. Here from SDG.

  6. wonderful winter shots ... prayN for Japan ... saw the book of Eli, a few months ago ... love movies with messages like The Book of Eli.

  7. Your photos are gorgeous! And, Jodi, as always a pleasure to be here. Love the way you have with words and feelings.

The Book of Eli is one of my favorite movies. So very good. Denzel is superb!

  8. After I watched the Book of Eli, I thought about it for weeks. Powerful and haunting.

"To restore my sanity with beauty." I love that.

  9. Beautiful images. You're restoring *my* sanity with the beauty you captured! Book of Eli...I'll have to check that one out.
