Anticipating BH Photo Shootout ~ Shoot the Hills

Looking forward to a fun weekend

of photography

at the Black Hills Photo Shootout.

My husband is thinking this weekend

is going to cost him a new camera.

I am thinking maybe

some accessories.

I may come home with serious "camera envy".

Perhaps . . . but I like simplicity over complexity.

Less to tote around versus more.

So, we will see.

I am hoping it is not way over my head.

I have not taken a photography class since high school.

Even so, I can always take pictures,

on my favorite settings

and be content.

Put me in nature

with Super Macro

and I am in the zone!

  1. It has been years since I have been to the Black Hills... but I remember them being SO beautiful! I can not wait to see the photos you come home with! I am sure you are going to have so much fun learning! :)

  2. OMG, Jodi, these photos! Gorgeous! Is the second one the Needles? In 2008 we spent our vacation in the Dakotas and of course some days in the Black Hills. We LOVED Custer State Park - and the Needles Loop. However, it was foggy and my pictures didn't turn out very well. Enjoy your photo shootout, it sounds like a lot of fun!

  3. The first two are in the Needles ~ the Cathedral Spires and the Needle's Eye. Thanks for the encouraging words, Jen and Carola!

careful with camera envy.....but be very very cautious when it comes to Len's envy that is where it will cost you big time ;D

  6. These pictures are amazing. You are so truly talented. I love the yellow flowers -- for some reason flowers right now seem to speak to me louder than anything else in photography. Thank you for the beautiful picture! It is a little piece of joy.
